Product Description

A very rare pair of c. 1967- 1969 "Thigh High" boots, a style which was pioneered by Beth Levine (wife of Herbert Levine) who took boots to limits in 1967 with her stocking and stretch boot styles. These Thigh High boots would have been worn with a very short mini skirt or mini dress. These were made in England for export to the North American market.

The boots have black leather in the foot area with the uppers being made from a stretch vinyl with a Buffalo hide pattern embossed into it.

The pair is in good- very good displayable condition. The soles have some wear from light use, there is some scuffing/ minor cracking of the leather at the toes of the boots and there is a 3/4" tear in the vinyl at the seam on the inner side of the right boot.

Although the leather is strong and the vinyl is still stretchy, they are being sold as a collectible and not as a wearable due to their rarity.

Measurements are for reference only. Stamped on sole as being a size 9 which is North American (US and Canada) sizing and usually equals to a UK size 7. They are a very slender, narrow fit in the foot and in the leg. Outside sole length is 10 1/2", outside sole width is 3", heel height is 1", boot height is 23".

*Special thanks to Jonathan Walford, author of the fabulous book, The Seductive Shoe, for the information on Thigh High boots.
