Quick Overview

A very rare c. 1905 Edwardian pair of skirted combinations made from fine white cotton with ornate hand embroidered muslin leg cuffs.

Product Description

A very rare c. 1905 Edwardian pair of skirted combinations from Montreal, Quebec, Canada made from fine white cotton with ornate hand embroidered muslin leg cuffs. This garment is a combination of a corset cover, pantaloons and a "petticoat" to make one perfectly fitting undergarment and reducing the bulk created by wearing different items. It fastens down the front with linen covered buttons and is completely handsewn as well as having the original owner's name on the laundry label, Gosselin- Lefebvre. I have added a modern ribbon through the ribbon slots at the top as the original ribbon was missing and there are also slots at the waist to add a narrower ribbon.
The combinations are in very good- excellent condition and have been in my collection for the past 15 years. The only fault being a 1" moth or insect fray hole at the back of the skirt neat the ruffled muslin hem but this gets lost on the fullness of the garment.
A wearable size as well, Bust measures approx. 44" (will fit a bust of up to 40"), waist measures 31" (this was meant to be worn over a corset), Hips measure approx. 46" (will fit hips up to 40"/42"), Length is 38 1/2" (I am 5'9" and this comes to my knees).
