A late 1950's- early 1960's two piece cocktail dress made from red rayon velvet. The dress consists of a dress constructed with a velvet skirt and
a matching nylon bodice and a velvet over bodice. The dress looks like it was originally a commercial made garment as there is an old Canada ILGWU
label sewn on the inside of the skirt but the outfit looks to have been altered at home by the original owner. Fastens at the back with a nylon zipper.

The dress is in fair but wearable condition with some TLC. The over bodice is missing some hooks and eyes at the back to close it. The bottom kick opening at the back of the
skirt has torn and would need to be sewn back up (see photo three). There are handmade alterations to the hem and bodice and a small 1/2" tear to the nylon at the left underarm
which does not show once the over bodice is put on top of the dress (see photo four).

A very small size. Shoulders measure 15", Bust measures 36 1/2" (will fit a 34" bust), waist measures 28" (will fit a 26" waist), hips measure 36" (will fit 34" hips),
Overbodice is proportioned tp fit over the dress. Dress length from shoulder to hem is 39 1/2".
