C. 1845. A striking heavy silk damask satin evening bodice with a burgundy, salmon, beige, hunter green and white plaid pattern.
The bodice has a long pointed front and a round back waist set slightly higher than natural waist level. The back fastens with hooks and eyes and is lined in medium weight white drill with boning at the inside seams. The shoulders have dropped and piped seams and the bodice is entirely handsewn.
