Child's White Muslin Bodice
c. 1810. A fine white muslin high waisted bodice
which would have been worn by a 2 year old. The neckline is low and scooped as is typical of children's wear up until the mid 1860's.
The front of the bodice has classically inspired curved rows of narrow pintucking as does
the square sleeves. The back
fastens with drawstrings and is entirely handsewn.(Formerly from the collection of Leila Hidic)
