A late 1950's- early 1960's Merry Widow from France by Pepita. It is made from a very light turquoise/baby blue
colored silk dupioni with white embroidered accents. The inside is lined in white cotton with a white satin ribbon
waist tape and plush lined bone casings. The bust cups have underwires and there are four ruffled stocking suspenders.
The garment originally had four metal clipper suspenders but the previous owner replaced the front two with plastic
ones at some point when the orginal metal ones wore out. The Merry Widow fastens at the back with hooks and eyes.
It is in good wearable condition, the elastic panels at the back still have stretch to them but there are two small pinhead sized
holes on the elastic at the back left. There is also some slight light yellow perspiration discoloratio to each underarm
area but it does not detract from the look of the garment.
