A late 1940's- early 1950's wedding gown made from a medium- heavy weight nylon satin floral damask fabric. It has a flattering angular neckline, heart shaped bodice and full skirt which will accommodate a crinoline but will still look nice without one as well! Fastens at the wrists and at the left side with a metal zipper.
The dress is in very good- excellent condition and can be worn today as a wedding dress! There is the odd little VERY light yellow age spot here and there (I found one behind the right armseye seam) and some very slight yellowing at the very edge of each wrist cuff. None of these would be noticeable when worn at all!
The skirt may have been shortened during the later 50's for another wearer but this looks to have been done professionally.
Shoulders measure 15 1/2", Bust measures 38" (will suit a 34"- 36" bust), Rib measures 30", Waist measures 26" (will suit a 24" waist), Hips are full up to 38", Bodice length is 15 3/4" from shoulder to waist seam, Sleeve length is 25", Dress length is 46" from shoulder to hem.
