C. 1895. A summer bodice from the late Victorian era with FULL Leg 'O Mutton sleeves (these have been stuffed to show the size of them as my dress form does not have arms!). It is made from a pink patterned muslin and lined in white cotton. The bodice is not boned and fastens with brass hook and eyes at the front. It has an unfinished waistline as it would have been worn tucked into a skirt to make it look like a shirtwaist.
The bodice is in good displayable condition but is probably too small and fragile to be worn. There are holes at each seam under each sleeve and the elastic has stretched out and caused some discoloring from age.
