A late 1850's- very early 1860's little child's zouave jacket made from white cotton with Broderie Anglaise around the edges, pagoda sleeves and collar. Fastens at the neck with a carved shell button. In very good condition with only some light yellow age spots here and there on the jacket from age. No tears.
Sized for a 3-4 year old child, although it fits in the body of my bony 7 year old, its much too short. Dropped shoulder to shoulder seam measurement is 14", Length from shoulder to hem is 11 1/2", Sleeve length is 10 1/2", Chest is approx. 34" (this would have been worn full over a Garibaldi blouse).
