An early 1890's Victorian dress which had been in the process of being unpicked. This was a common practice during the era and it would have eventually been recycled into another garment for another family member or restyled to keep up with current fashions. For some reason, the original owner never bothered to complete the renovation!
The outfit consists of a kick-up sleeve bodice which has started to be unpicked and a skirt in three pieces (two skirt pieces and a ruffled hem). The outfit is complete and could be sewn back together but the skirt would need a lining and a new waistband as those two items are missing. The silk is not shattering and the bodice does not have underarm damage.
Once restored it could be displayed or worn briefly for a photo or a tea. A VERY small petite size. Shoulders measure 12", bust measures 31", Bust measures 22". Skirt length is APPROX. 40".
