A pair of c. 1900 VOLUMINOUS sporting bloomers made from black cotton and fastening at the hip with snaps and hook and eyes. The leg cuffs were elasticated but the elastic has now perished.
Now, when I say voluminous, I mean VOLUMINOUS! Although the waist is small, the actual body of the bloomers are massive, you could sail a boat with them! They would have been used for either bicycling or bathing (with an appropriate over dress). They do have extensive moth damage to the inside leg and some period repairs/darns so they are in fair condition but could still be displayed due to the sheer volume of material which would cover the large moth hole up.
Waist measures 27"- 29", Hips are 80"+! Length is 33".
