C. 1930's. A pair of beautiful and feminine "tap panties" made from
silky smooth black "Art silk", a rayon fabric first discovered in
the Edwardian era. The legs have a hand embroidered "diamond & flower" pattern with net lace inserts while black lace trims the leg cuffs.
I was lucky enough to acquire one ladies complete underwear trousseau from the 1930's which was lovingly packed away in an old vintage suitcase all these years. The lady's daughter said that her mother used to buy her fabrics from France and have the underwear made up elsewhere, sometime by nuns! The panties are entirely handsewn with tiny stitches and are in MINT unworn condition- they were never finished being made as no buttons were ever sewn on!! A roll of matching fabric still survived with the trousseau and I will divide it into three equal pieces and send a piece of the spare fabric along to the pantie's new owner. If you buy all three pairs of black panties (please see my other two listings), I will send along the complete uncut roll.
A medium/large size. Waist measures approx. 33" (best fit a waist of 30"- 32 1/2"), Hips measure Hips measure approx. 50" (best fit a hip of 38"- 42" for ease of fit), Length from waist to hem is approx. 19".
