A late 1940's checked pink cotton house dress from France by Le Sanglier. The dress has short puffed sleeves and fastens down the front with white glass buttons. It has it's matching belt which has a button sewn on the end, but you would have been expected to resew the button on according to your own waist measurements.
The dress is in good wearable condition, the only fault being that there is a light fade line going across the front waist of the dress. This is probably where it had been folded all these years. It's not too bad though.
Shoulders measure 16", Bust measures 38" (will fit a 36" bust, my bust is 38" and this pulls on me), Waist measures 38" (meant to be worn cinched in with the belt), Hips measure 41" (my hips are 38" and this fits me perfectly). Length is 43", the proportions of the dress suit a taller height of 5'7" and up. I am 5'9" and it ends at knee length on me.
